Past President of the Women’s Sports Foundation
Angela Hucles, a two-time Olympic Gold Medalist for US Soccer, served as president of the Women’s Sports Foundation in 2015 and 2016. Hucles, named the US Soccer Foundation’s 2009 Humanitarian of the Year, was founder and CEO of the Empowerment Through Sport Leadership Series, an organization focused on discovering sports leadership skills and athlete transitions that translate to life success.
Hucles graduated from the University of Virginia with a B.A. in anthropology. During her college career, she was a first-team All-ACC Selection and a four-time Mid-Atlantic Star. She ended her career at Virginia as the all-time leader in goals (59), points (138), and game-winning goals (19). She’s a spokesperson for New England SCORES, an organization aimed at empowering students in urban communities through soccer, writing, and other activities. Hucles has also volunteered with CityKicks, an afterschool program for underserved middle school girls in the Boston Public School System.
