DAVID ROBINSON

Co-founder and principal at Admiral Capital Group

David Robinson was a star basketball player at both the college and professional levels, first at the U.S. Naval Academy, where he earned a degree in mathematics, and then with the San Antonio Spurs, where he played for 14 years. His many honors include the NBA MVP, two NBA championships and two Olympic Gold Medals. He was inducted into the basketball Hall of Fame in September 2009. His work as one of the preeminent philanthropists in professional sports lead to the NBA's creation of the David Robinson Plaque, given to current players in recognition of their outstanding community service.

After graduating from the U.S. Naval Academy, Robinson honored a commitment to serve two years in the Navy before joining the NBA. He later co-founded Admiral Capital Group with Daniel Bassichis, built on Robinson's longstanding philosophy of integrity, reputation and commitment to community. Robinson's charitable achievements include his $9 million commitment toward the construction and operation of The Carver Academy, an independent school for San Antonio students from a culturally diverse community.
